Quienes no saben, estoy por irme, sí, por fin. El lugar ya lo saben todos, al menos el que lee éste blog sabe, gracias a mi hermana quien va a ayudarme a salir de acá, pienso continuar los estudios allá (sinceramente quisiera comenzar de cero, pero bueeeh) por lo cual necesito ciertos papeles y realizar ciertos trámites, algo que me pone bastante nervioso ya que aunque sé cómo es el proceso, no sé realmente qué tan efectivo sea, para nadie es secreto la “eficiencia” de cualquier oficina del gobierno Venezolano.

Luego por acá iré contando cómo me va, espero que todo salga como lo he planeado.

Bueno, para los que tenemos un Wii, hay una ventaja, podemos usar el Wiimote en linux, por ejemplo como mouse, pero su uso más interesante es de gamepad, es posible usarlo con el accesorio Nunchuk o el control clásico (éste es el que voy a usar acá)

Primero necesitas tener el bluetooth configurado, si no tienes bluetooth, compra un dongle usb, son baratongos y se consiguen en cualquier tienda, yo compré el más barato en 70 BsF y funcionó a la perfección en linux, si necesitas un poco de ayuda a configurarlo, pasa por el wiki de arch.

Luego, necesitamos el driver, usaremos cwiid, como hablamos de Arch Linux, nos vamos al AUR y descargamos, también sirve con yaourt (simplemente yaourt -S cwiid), si te da algún error al momento de compilar, instala el paquete bison (pacman -S bison).

Al terminar, ya tenemos todo el camino listo, y finalizamos con ésto (hacerlo como root):

modprobe uinput

wminput -c gamepad

En ese momento te pedirá que presiones el botón 1 y 2 del Wiimote al mismo tiempo (verás los leds parpadeando), luego de hacerlo, esperas unos segundos y podrás ver algo como:

Put Wiimote in discoverable mode now (press 1+2)…
Ready

Si algo va mal y ves algo como:

unable to open uinput

Entonces intenta haciendo (igual como root):

chmod a+r /dev/input/uinput

wminput -c gamepad

Cruza los dedos y espera que vaya todo bien

Cuando termines podrás usar el Control Clásico en linux, es excelente para jugar títulos del Super Nintendo con ZSNES, aunque también probé con fceu para los de NES y funcionó a la perfección.

Como mencioné anteriormente es posible además usar el Wiimote con el nunchuk y darle uso en otro tipo de juegos (me viene a la mente Grand Theft Auto pero luego probaré), para ello solo necesitas usar otro parámetro en wminput, te recomiendo pasar por el wiki de cwiid para saber cómo.

Lo mejor de usar Archlinux es tener el AUR, un repositorio de “PKGBUILDS” que te permiten crear un paquete en cuestión de segundos (y más rápido aún si usas algún tool como yaourt o aurbuild), no hay que preguntarle a nadie ni pasar engorrosas pruebas para subir un PKGBUILD ahí, así que la variedad es notoria.

Uso bastantes paquetes del AUR y recomendaré acá los que me parezcan mejores:

• yaourt

Un frontend para pacman que permite además construir paquetes del AUR con un solo comando

• pidgin-msnp14

Soporte experiental para el protocolo nuevo del MSN, permite que en Pidgin puedas ver los mensajes de estado y así mismo cambiar el tuyo.

• cairo-ubuntu (incluye libxft-ubuntu, fontconfig-ubuntu y freetype2-ubuntu)

Para que el renderizado de las fuentes sea tal cual al de ubuntu (que bastante bien se ve comparado con la renderización normal)

• lastfm-msk

El cliente oficial de last.fm con ciertos parches para acomodar esos defectos que tiene y ciertas mejoras menores

• rasterbator

Bastante bueno, hecho varias “rasterbations” con eso, vean el website oficial para que me entiendan

• virtualbox_bin

La versión OSE no tiene soporte para USB, así que me toca usar éste (versión directa del binario)

• handbrakegtk

Interfaz GTK para handbrake, con ésto convierto DVDs al formato de video del iPod facilmente

• kpowersave-devel

Si usan KDE se habrán dado cuenta de lo malo que es klaptop, bueno, kpowersave es un muy buen reemplazo

• 4l

Los que tengan unidades compatibles con Lightscribe y quieran probarlo, con éste programa se hacen las impresiones de forma rápida

• ksynaptics

Para configurar el touchpad synaptics en KDE

• toilet

Como figlet pero permite hacer letras con colores (fino para joder en el IRC xD)

Well, the last post on my blog was a long time ago, I know, it wasn’t even related to my life so I guess I should update it…

Oh bleh, my life has changed from being extremely monotone to extremely unpredictable, I guess it was because I began doing things that I shouldn’t have done before, those who actually know me, know what I’m talking about, I’m sorry but I can’t talk about it here, I wish I could though.

Hard work at uni, sometimes I have no time for myself, I swear it’s been eating me although it becomes fun at times, but weekends became the unpredictable part of my life when I get high and/or drunk because it’s always something different, it’s probably the only thing that keeps my life interesting as long as I have too much work.

What can I say? oh well, Venezuela’s politic&economic situations: it’s hard to keep it up at times, sometimes I wish I didn’t live here (as I said before) but I already assume I’m going to end up living here forever so I’m getting used to it, how? ignoring it, it’s quite impossible at times but it’s really something you have to do when you live in such an unstable place like this.

I’ve been having problems with my parents and sister which makes me thing that sometimes blood doesn’t relate to family, I have so many different points of view, plus some childish issues make thing we’re not even related so I guess I’m gonna ignore that thing now and assume I don’t even need to follow their rules or their stupid things, no way, whenever I have the chance to move to another place I will, it’s likely that I get disconnected when I do, but I don’t care and however, they don’t either so I see no reason why I should.

Also I don’t like posting this kind of things but I needed to take it out, whenever I feel I should post again I will, and yeah I know I said this like a lot of times, but hopefully this time is for real.

Nadie se acuerda de los famosos lentes que vendían para ver un video en 3D por Venevisión? jajaja, me acuerdo que mi papá los compró, creo que yo estaba como en 2do grado (mmm tal vez 1996-1997?), y estaba esperando ansiosamente por el día de la transmisión, pero no recuerdo por qué… ese día no estuve en mi casa, me arrepentí siempre de habérmelo perdido aunque me dijeron que no fue nada del otro mundo, gracias a Youtube pude verlo por fin (y de verdad no era la gran cosa, jajaja)

Como muchos saben ya, soy sendo fanboy de KDE, pero por supuesto no todo es perfecto y gracias a que KDE 3.x posee cosas ya muy viejas (que no estarán en KDE4) está el problema con klaptopdaemon, realmente, no sirve, intenté con el kde-guidance-powermanager, pero en Archlinux es casi imposible de compilar por razones que no recuerdo y que de verdad vi que no valía la pena, pero “googleando” encontré KPowersave, hace todo a la perfección (incluyendo suspend, hibernate y perfiles), y es el mismo que se usa en SuSE, SIN EMBARGO descubrí algo que me molesta y es el hecho de que cuando cierro la tapa del laptop, se activa -sin importar como esté configurado- el blank screensaver de Xorg (super molesto que se activa cada 310 segundos), teniendo que desactivarlo con “xset s off” a cada rato, ya que yo no uso screensavers.

Al principio no supe realmente la razón, pero luego descubrí que kpowersave (0.7.3 y 0.7.2, también el svn :P) era la causa, buscando en google encontré que ubuntu le aplicó un parche para que eso no pase, ya lo probé y la verdad es que funciona, menos mal, por supuesto Arch permite una fácil modificación del paquete donde viene el kpowersave, que saqué del AUR, y lo compartiré por acá por si a caso alguno lo necesita.

PS: Luego hago otro PKGBUILD y le incluyo unos iconos más decentes que vi en kde-look.org, los que trae kpowersave son horribles. Ya lo incluí, el pkgbuild nuevo ya está allí.

My first post in months, I don’t like writing about this but yeah this is what I feel right now.

How can you not see how is our country getting damaged every fucking day? how can you not see we’re going downfall?

How can you say “yeah as long it doesn’t affect me I don’t give a shit”? is it so hard to understand that socialism DOES NOT FUCKING WORK!?!?!?!?

Stop betraying your country, wake up!, we need to get rid of this shit, we want to live in a normal country where everything works as it should, where we can buy whatever we want, where we can say whatever we think.

YOU BRAINLESS CUNT, wake up, get a fucking clue and rescue your country, get up and realize that we’re not going anywhere with this goverment, WE NEED A CHANGE.

So yeah, I finally made a new post, to be honest I’ve been too lazy to write something here and I ran out of ideas

I spent the holidays in Santiago, Chile as many of you should know, I went to visit my sister and her kids also wanted to visit some nice people I met on the previous visit to the city (thanks to irc, of course :P).

Gotta admit this 3rd visit was a little bit more boring but I still enjoyed it a lot. I spent the first days at sister’s apartment, I went to lot of cool restaurants at the Suecia Street, the 2nd week I went to “cajón del maipo” for two days considering the winter season, a visit to the snow was better than the last time when I went to “Valle Nevado” (July 2006).

Some landscape views were quite impressive and totally beautiful

Well yeah, and then I got drunk with the guys from irc and shit, etc, I will continue this post someday
